It can be said that Far Cry is a series defined by its villains. Each one has left their mark, building a twisted legacy of memorable characters. Now a hero can only be as great as the villain they overcome, and a villain can only be as great as the actor bringing them to life.

We’ve looked at the guerrillas of Far Cry 6, so now it’s time to look at the talent behind the tyranny.

Anton

GIANCARLO ESPOSITO – ANTON CASTILLO

Anton Castillo rules Yara with a larger-than-life presence and an iron will, and the actor behind that unforgettable performance is none other than Giancarlo Esposito. Giancarlo comes from an artistic family – his mother an opera singer, and his father a carpenter/stagehand. He’s been performing since the age of 8, and his impressive body of work encompasses theatre, music, film, and TV.

Giancarlo started his career in Broadway, but moved to movies garnering acclaim for his work with Spike Lee in School Daze, Do the Right Thing, Mo’ Better blues, and Malcolm X. He sky-rocketed to international fame with roles in the acclaimed Netflix series Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, in addition to playing Moff Gideon in Disney’s The Mandalorian.

Diego

ANTHONY GONZALEZ – DIEGO CASTILLO

In many ways, the story of Far Cry 6 is the story of Anton’s conflicted son, Diego. This pivotal role was played by Anthony Gonzalez, who you might recognize as the voice of Miguel in Pixar’s Coco. You can also see his work in Shameless, The Last Ship, and Grand-Daddy Cay Care.

Jose

ERIK VALDEZ – GENERAL JOSE CASTILLO

When Jose Castillo isn’t hunting guerrillas, he’s desperately sucking up to his dictator uncle. This deliciously despisable villain is the hard work of Erik Valdez. A self-professed ‘country boy’ and a motorsports fanatic, Erik moved to Los Angeles in 2004 to launch his professional acting career. Erik can also be seen in Graceland, Jarhead 3, and Superman and Lois.

Benitez

MICHELLE ARVIZU – ADMIRAL ANA BENITEZ

Michelle Arvizu is the force behind the fanatical Admiral Benitez. In fact, Benitez would be nothing but an empty uniform without Michelle’s formidable presence and talent. When she’s not leading the Yaran navy, you can find Michelle’s work in La Quinceanera and the ground-breaking sci-fi series Orphan Black.

Mckay

RICK ROBERTS – SEAN MCKAY

Sean McKay is a quintessentially Canadian villain, and who better to step into his shoes than Rick Roberts. Rick is a fixture in Canadian entertainment. In his near thirty-year career, he’s appeared in dozens of television series and films. You can catch his work in Showcase’s Cra$h and Burn, and classics like the CBC’s Republic of Doyle, and Traders.

PAULINO NUNES – DR. EDGAR RAMIREZ

Dr. Ramirez is the creator of Viviro, and the man responsible for horrific medical experiments performed on the people of Yara. Only an actor of the caliber of Paulino Nunes could pull off such a dark role with flair. Originally from Portugal, Paulino is a veteran TV actor, known for his roles in Designated Survivor, Brooklyn, and The Girlfriend Experience. You can also hear his distinctive voice in Ubisoft’s own Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Maria

NICOLA CORREIA-DAMUDE – MARIA MARQUESSA

Maria Marquessa is a former Telenovela star-turned mouthpiece for the regime. This fierce and self-obsessed antagonist is brilliantly played by Nicola Correia-Damude, who is known for her work on Shadowhunters, Burden of Truth, and The Boys.

Alvarez

CHRISTIAN OCHOA – BEMBE ALVAREZ

If you ask Bembe, Yara is his island – everyone else just lives on it. This snake and self-appointed King of the Black Market is played with impeccable smoothness by Christian Ochoa. Raised in Miami by Cuban parents, Christian has enjoyed tremendous success in the acting world. You can catch his unmistakeable charm in Dynasty, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
