Gamescom 2020 has gone virtual! Like most events this year, online spaces are keeping gamers connected, safe, and up to date on the latest and greatest industry developments. That’s why, this year, Ubisoft Entrepreneurs is supporting the Indie Arena Booth: so players from around the world can experience some of the smaller studios’ biggest ideas.
On August 27th, Ubisoft is showcasing 13 indie studios from Canada and Germany via the Ubisoft Entrepreneurs virtual booth. Ubisoft Toronto is proud to highlight two Ubisoft Indie Series–winning games from Ontario at this year’s event: Bravery Network Online by GLOAM, and Solace State by Vivid Foundry.
GLOAM is the 2019 Ubisoft Indie Series winner with its turn-based battle game Bravery Network Online, which will be released on Steam later this year. In Bravery Network Online, post-post-post-post-apocalyptic teens explore their immortality via violence and feelings, all wrapped up in multiplayer RPG battles.
Vivid Foundry, the 2020 winner, impressed the Ubisoft judges with its creative and visually polished Solace State, scheduled to be launched in 2021 on PC. Solace State is an intimate choice-driven cyberpunk game about young hackers in a militarized biotech city, whose acts of resistance impact friends and factions fighting for their livelihoods.
With 185 titles from 51 countries — carefully curated by a jury of more than 40 national and international industry experts — Indie Arena Booth Online presents the world’s largest and most varied selection of indie games, embedded in an entertaining online multiplayer event with an attractive live program.
Every participating developer and publisher has built their own booths, thanks to an innovative and intuitive WYSIWYG booth editor by Super Crowd Entertainment. This will create a colourful and multi-faceted gaming world primed to reveal the diversity and creative range of the participants.
