Ubisoft Black Game Pros Mixer Event-15

In honor of Black History Month, Ubisoft Toronto hosted the first Black Game Pros Mixer on February 6, to bring together Black talent and professionals from the local video game and tech industries.

At Ubisoft we are committed to delivering gaming experience that reflect the diversity of the world we live in, and we believe that diverse and inclusive teams will enable us to make the best possible games for players. But there is still work to be done to make that goal a reality across the industry, and the Black Game Pros Mixer is step in that direction.

An initiative that began at E3 2019, the Black Game Pros Mixer was founded by Ubisoft Director of International Events Leon Winkler, and led to the launch of the Black Game Pros Employee Resource Group (ERG) at Ubisoft Toronto. The Black Game Pros is an ERG for Black employees at Ubisoft, as well as those from across the African diaspora, focused on the sustained development and growth of Black employees, and the nurturing and encouragement of Black students to pursue a career in video games and technology.

The Ubisoft Toronto event included networking, a tour of the recently completed Performance Capture Studio, and a panel discussion with special guests Raymond Graham (Unity Technologies), Tanya DePass (I Need Diverse Games), as well as Leon and Andrien.
