We’re thrilled to introduce the talented mentees of this year’s Develop at Ubisoft (DAU) Program!
Over the course of the mentorship, 10 students and recent graduates collaborated closely with industry experts at our studio, honing their skills, tackling exciting challenges, and diving deep into game development.
From building 3D renderers from scratch to crafting 2D arcade games, our mentees pushed their technical and creative skills with incredible passion. For some, this was their first-ever dive into game development — an exciting adventure!
We provided them a taste of what it would be like to create their own game with a mock challenge, where mentees were given a C++ API capable of drawing lines, displaying images and printing text. With the theme “Rebirth,” they were challenged to develop a game in a single weekend and the results were inspiring! Check out their awesome work:
What is Develop at Ubisoft?
At Ubisoft, we believe in fostering creative, diverse, and inclusive teams. And that’s exactly what Develop at Ubisoft is all about: empowering and supporting under-represented genders.
The program provides mentorship, hands-on experience, and career growth opportunities for women and non-binary students and recent grads (with less than two years of experience), helping them build the skills to thrive in game development.

“NEXT and Develop at Ubisoft have shaped our studio and Ontario’s video game industry. We’re proud to create pathways for the next generation of talent and provide a platform to bring and support under-represented voices into the industry,” says Darryl Long, Managing Director at Ubisoft Toronto. “Many passionate developers who started in these programs have stayed to grow and build bright careers with us, working on Ubisoft’s biggest brands right here in Toronto.”
“Develop at Ubisoft continues to break barriers, create opportunities, and pave the way for a more inclusive future in our industry,” says Lena Yen, Talent Specialist, Campus and Early Career Programs at Ubisoft Toronto. “This year, our Ubisoft Toronto team members focused on mentorship, providing our mentees with guidance, inspiration, and unwavering support as they worked on their projects. Together, we are shaping a future where everyone has a place in game development.”
Thank you to all mentees for your creativity and dedication, and to our mentors for your guidance in shaping the next generation of game developers. Congrats to this year’s incredible cohort! We can’t wait to see where your talent takes you next.
