What’s it like being a Game Designer at Ubisoft? Introducing Role Play! It’s a new video series created by our studio that will explore the careers involved in making games at Ubisoft Toronto. In the first of the series, Game Director, Richard Carrillo gives us a glimpse of life as a Game Designer and how Ubisoft approaches game design.

Richard Carrillo has over 12 years of experience in game design. He joined the Ubisoft Toronto team in 2011 as a Lead Game Designer on ‘Splinter Cell Blacklist’. He has developed his skills at studios all over North America. Working at so many different locations with different principles has taught him unique insights into the game development process and studio structures. With this knowledge and experience Richard has dedicated himself not only to making great games, but also to bettering the hiring practices and growth of game designers.
